PFPC is a well-recognized network of women association which involve peace and security in Senegal particularly in the sub-region. Since 2010 PFPC plays a leading role in the return of peace to Casamance and the promotion of human rights.
PFPC was created from the awareness of women of the need to
bring together and unify the various women associations in the natural region of Casamance, in order to impose the voice of women in peace-seeking processes.
Today, it brings together 15 women’s umbrella organizations, with some 25,000 members spread across natural Casamance (Ziguinchor, Sédhiou and Kolda) and focal points in all regions of Senegal.
PFPC members work in differents fields like agriculture to bring communities, particularly women, to achieve productive and resilient agriculture through three results:
(1) increased access to land and land tenure security for women
(2) increased access to financing
(3) better access to income-generating activities.
PFPC also ensure rational and concerted management of natural resources, by accompanying communes to draw up a local convention on a consensual and participatory basis.
The PFPC leads and centralizes a major effort to monitor and denounce violence perpetrated against civilian populations and human rights violations. Since 8 years PFPC is active in the fight against Gender based violence with an important work to prevent and respond to GBV by the opening of the holistic care center for survivors of violence called kullimaaroo.
