Meeting and training in Cabo Verde
On the first day, Kostas guided our members through the validation process of the learning outcomes.
The second day came with a study visit to São Vicente Island. In here, we got a chance to learn about the system of water production by filtering the clouds transported by the wind. How amazing!
We also visited Simili Atelier where recycling and upcycling are applied to create textile and artisanal products from the trash met in the ocean.
It was very emotional for us as well as our partnersAction Synergy, Restoring Ancient Stabiae – RAS Foundation Onlus and UNI-CV when visiting Norte Baía and watching the graffiti made by international artists in the field of the S-FEST Project in 2017.
Apart from this, we also visited UTAGA, Ribeira de Calhau to taste delicious local products for example cheese, papaya sweets, etc).
On the next day, we made a trip to Santo Antão Island. The week ended by a stakeholders meeting to discuss cultural tourism promotion strategies.
We are grateful for a wonderful week in Cabo Verde. We would like to say thanks to our partners for making this happen!
Last day of the meeting in Athens
The meeting is over and our teams are coming back at home bringing with them a lot of experience, new skills, feelings and future plans!
The last day of activities have been very useful to learn, from the experience of the partners, some different ways of improving the cultural tourism in an alternative way.
On Thursday, in the night, the group had a fantastic opportunity to live the experience of the ancient theater opera “the Frogs” of the playwright Aristophanes, it was a great emotion under the Parthenon illuminated by the moon.
Now some local activities are going to be implemented until the next meeting in Cape Verde!

Kick-off meeting in Athens, Greece
The first coordination and training meeting took place in Athens, Greece, with the participation of partners from Italy, Greece, Spain, Cape Verde, Kenya and Senegal.
On day 2, the members discussed financial management, then evaluation and monitoring of the project activities. In the afternoon, Kostas from Action Synergy walked us through Work Package 3 – Design qualification profile and joint curriculum.
Day 3 came with a lot of fun. The team lived a practical experience of an alternative way to visit the cultural heritage through a very funny and interesting Treasure Hunt!
Through quiz, puzzles and other games we have discovered the Acropolis of Athens and the amazing historical and archaeological heritage of the ancient city. And then, they had lunch in the local market having also the opportunity to interview the young owner which has explained the innovation of his restaurant and the importance of the high-quality food (fish) and the service and the relation with the customers. Innovation to live the cultural experience and discover the local heritage.
